- Rail transportation to and from non-EU countries
- Special rail transports (e.g., oversea shipments or freight trains accompanied by personnel)

2. Where do you operate?
We primarily operate within the member states of the European Union, but we also provide transport to and from third countries outside the EU, such as Ukraine, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
3. How do you approach ecology and sustainability?
We use an environmentally friendly type of transport â rail transport. We primarily use electric-powered rail transport, which is more ecological than many other types of transport. By combining rail, road, and sea transport, we ensure an efficient and environmentally friendly way of moving goods.
4. What is the "first and last mile"?
This is an additional service where we, for example, arrange the extension of wagons to the siding selected by the customer, the removal of wagons from the customer-selected siding, or the movement by locomotive during loading or unloading. We also provide a comprehensive service that includes storage of goods, intermediate storage in a warehouse, removal, transshipment between different modes of transport, and road transport if the origin or destination is not connected to the railway network.
5. What do extraordinary shipments include?
Extraordinary shipments cover various types of rail transport that require a special transport permit from the infrastructure manager for the route on which the shipment will travel. There are different types of extraordinary shipments, such as unauthorized railway vehicles moving under their own power, wagons with expired inspections, oversized shipments exceeding the permitted profile, heavy shipments exceeding specified parameters, or shipments requiring special handling or transport conditions. These services include obtaining the necessary transport permits for extraordinary shipments, arranged by us based on the relevant documents provided by the customer.
6. How is transport to and from non-EU countries carried out?
We ensure smooth transit of trains carrying goods across EU borders to and from non-EU countries, thanks to our many years of expertise. We assist customers with the necessary documentation and customs formalities at the border crossing with non-EU countries, through local agents handling the customs procedures.
7. What are special transports?
The special transport service includes the shipment of specific or non-standard goods, such as the transport of railway wagons by sea or securing maritime containers against opening beyond the locks during rail transport on broad-gauge tracks.
8. Do you offer consulting services?
Yes, we provide expert consulting in the field of rail transport, including the development of tailor-made transport projects.
9. How can I start cooperating with Happy Transport EU?
For an initial contact, please reach out to us by email at mracek@happytransporteu.cz.
Please be sure to include the following information: the origin of the shipment, the destination, the commodity being transported, the quantity of goods in a single shipment, and the annual volume.
10. How much does rail freight transport cost?
Prices are determined individually and depend on the specifics of each shipment, such as distance, the characteristics of the railway infrastructure along the route, the quantity of goods sent per shipment, the type of goods, any required permits, and other factors.
11. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payments by bank transfer. We prefer payments in euros, but upon customer request, we can also issue invoices in Czech koruna. Payment details will be provided during the transport consultation.
12. How can we change from road transport to rail transport? What would you recommend as a starting point?
We recommend first checking whether your transport needs are suitable for rail, particularly regarding the quantity of goods shipped at once, longer transport distances, and the type of goods. Transitioning from road to rail transport can be done gradually, either by running part of your shipments by rail and part by road simultaneously, or through combined transport, where rail is used for the main distance and road transport covers the âfirstâ or âlast mile.â Based on detailed information about your transport requirements, we can propose an optimal transport plan. Please contact us with your specific transport needs, and we will be happy to prepare a tailor-made solution.
13. What cooperation do you require from us, the customers, during transport?
For smooth transport, we need you to provide all relevant information about the shipment, including the type of goods, weight, dimensions, quantity of goods per shipment, and the origin and destination. Especially in the case of extraordinary shipments or transport to and from non-EU countries, it is important to provide the necessary documentation. Based on this information, we can ensure an optimal transport plan and coordinate all parts of the transport process.
14. Will the goods be insured against damage during transport?
Yes, railway carriers are legally required to be insured. Happy Transport EU s.r.o. also holds valid insurance coverage.
